OPEN Newsletter - September 20, 2024
Dear friend,
I hope you've been doing well! You might have noticed that things have been a bit quiet on our end since the conclusion of the Week of Visibility back in July. We want to assure you that this silence doesn't mean we've been idle – quite the opposite!
In the last couple months, we've shifted gears to focus intensively on fundraising, which is our primary focus through the end of the year. We're working to ensure that we can sustain and expand our efforts to advance rights and acceptance for non-monogamous families and relationships. Below, I'll share a couple ways that you can help us meet our fundraising goals. But first, here are some other opportunities to get involved:
Town Hall - October 22
Join us for our next Town Hall, where we'll share updates about our work and hear from the communities we serve. It's a great opportunity to share your ideas and learn more about OPEN's mission. Click here to RSVP!
OPEN Book Group
We're launching a book group and want your input! If you're interested, please fill out this short survey to help shape this new initiative.
Open Workplaces Office Hours - November 7
For those interested in workplace advocacy, our next Office Hours session is coming up. This is your chance to get support and guidance for your efforts to create more inclusive workplaces. Click here to RSVP!
We're also excited to announce our participation in the upcoming Out & Equal Workplace Summit, the world's largest LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion event. This summit brings together global thought leaders and changemakers, providing a unique opportunity for us to share our expertise on non-monogamy inclusion, connect with key decision-makers in workplace policy, and work to make family and relationship structure a part of the conversation around workplace diversity and inclusion.
Growing our impact!
(Or: skip the small talk, chip in now.)
OPEN is working to raise $250,000 before the end of the year. Your support has already helped us pass new nondiscrimination protections, provide a range of free community resources, and advance non-monogamy visibility in global media outlets. With you support, we can do even more. Here are a few ways you can help:
Join OPEN and our friends at Velvet Ties non-monogamy matchmaking and social club for an exclusive fundraising gala in Miami on Saturday, November 23!
Step into an evening of elegance as we gather for a black-tie gala celebrating the mission of OPEN and the growing acceptance of ethical non-monogamy. Stick around on Sunday for a more relaxed day of learning and networking with a delicious brunch and workshops!
Ready to make this event a success? We need your help! Whether you're interested in sponsorship, making connections, volunteering, or offering resources, there's a role for everyone. We've created a simple form where you can tell us how you'd like to contribute. Please take a moment to fill out our volunteer form.Thank you for your support!
Start a Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser
Launch a personal fundraiser for OPEN on Facebook or Instagram to share why non-monogamy rights are important to you. To date, community members have raised over $1,400 for OPEN on social media, enough to cover four months of our free peer support sessions. Will you help us continue to provide more free support and resources to our community by starting a peer-to-peer fundraiser? We've made it easy with our step-by-step guide, including graphics and sample language.
Shop Our Non-Monogamy Bookstore
Our curated bookstore offers all the non-monogamy essentials, fulfilled by local independent booksellers. With each purchase, you're supporting indie bookstores, uplifting non-monogamous authors, and contributing to OPEN's mission. It's a win-win-win! Click here to shop now.
Make a Donation to OPEN
Your support is the cornerstone of our work. Every contribution, regardless of size, propels us closer to a world where all forms of ethical non-monogamy are understood, accepted, and protected. Whether it's funding educational resources, powering our advocacy initiatives, or enabling us to provide free community support, your donation makes a tangible difference. Help us write the next chapter in relationship rights!
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work behind the scenes. I can't wait for our next chapter together!
Stay open-hearted,
Brett Chamberlin
